Founded by Starshemah Duncan in 2018, For My Good Counseling Services, LLC specializes in delivering essential mental health services tailored to minority communities. Based in Pittsburgh, PA, the practice is a leader in addressing the unique mental health challenges faced by children, adolescents, and adults, with a focus on serving communities of color.
Duncan observed a glaring lack of accessible support for minority communities, inspiring her to establish her practice. For My Good Counseling Services has a mission to destigmatize mental health services providing equitable access to quality mental wellness care for communities of color. The practice is resolute in its commitment to meet clients where they are, recognizing and responding to the specific struggles faced by minority populations.
Acknowledging the prevalence of mental health challenges, particularly within minority communities, the practice prioritizes personalized treatment plans offering a comprehensive range of services including psychotherapy, hybrid therapy, counseling, medication treatments, and evidence-based treatment programs.
In collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh’s Small Business Development Center and funding partner Neighborhood Community Development Fund, an expansion plan was strategically mapped out. A business plan and financial projection were created to align with Duncan’s vision of reaching more individuals in need.
