October is cybersecurity month, so there’s no better time to ensure your business is safe from cyber attacks. On Tuesday, October 17, NET Xperts and Datto, a Kaseya Company, hosted From Rough to Recovery: Navigating Cybersecurity. with a lunch & learn event at TopGolf Pittsburgh. The session aimed to help those in attendance understand their network’s security and how best to protect it.
Joel Caskey, NET Xperts’s Cybersecurity Manager, provided an overview of the most common way hackers attempt to infiltrate businesses through its users. He shared that 82% of cybersecurity breaches involve internal actors—employees—whether knowingly or unknowingly (Verizon). In fact, 83% of companies experienced a phishing attach in 2021 (Proofprint). Brian Doty, channel Development Manager of Datto, then provided insights as to how to think about businesses cyber security framework and work toward cyber resilience.
