IEE Event Recap: Sponsor Lunch & Learn with Family Enterprise USA

On Wednesday March 20th, about 20 IEE members, sponsors, and guests attended a Lunch & Learn session hosted by the IEE and presented by Family Enterprise USA (FEUSA) and Policy and Taxation Group.

FEUSA’s John Gugliada presented the findings of the 2024 Annual Family Business Survey. This comprehensive survey gathered data from 789 respondents spanning 40 states, providing valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing family-owned enterprises across the nation. Notably, the results of this survey play a pivotal role in shaping discussions with Congress, as FEUSA advocates for the interests of family businesses in Washington, D.C.

Russ Sullivan, from the Policy and Taxation Group, provided an in-depth analysis of the current political landscape and its potential ramifications for tax policy. Sullivan covered the anticipated tax reforms that could take form under both the Democratic and Republican administrations following the outcome of this November’s election. Attendees gained valuable insights into how these proposed changes might impact family-owned businesses and how they can prepare for the impending changes.

The IEE thanks Family Enterprise USA for this informative program and their support in shaping policy that makes it possible for family businesses to continue to thrive.
