The Pittsburgh Business Times recently published an article reminding readers of the benefits of shopping locally. It mentioned “Small Business Saturday,” an annual one-day event founded in 2010 by American Express to encourage consumers to support small business and spend locally. Typically held on the Saturday following Thanksgiving, Small Business Saturday will be held on November 29 this year. American Express card members can register to get up to $30 back when they shop small on this day. So mark your calendars for November 29 and join in the celebration of small business owners.
