Stories Like Me, LLC is a family owned and operated e-commerce children’s bookstore. They have created an online corner of the world in which all children can see themselves in the images and stories around them. With a mission of being the most comprehensive and accessible resource for diverse and empowering children’s literature, Stories Like Me, LLC strives to promote equality, equity, and inclusion, both in literature and in life.
Early during the pandemic, CEO Helen Campbell connected with the Pitt SBDC to discuss increasing online sales, social media strategies, and brand awareness, as well as their long term business goals. Over the last 18 months, Stories Like Me has seen tremendous success by collaborating with multiple established businesses for pop-ups in the Pittsburgh region, assisted nonprofits with fundraising campaigns, expanded their online sales platforms, and increased their customer base.
Stories Like Me will continue work with their consultant at the Pitt SBDC on a recurring basis to evaluate business operations, sales goals, and online performance. The SBDC is proud of the success Stories Like Me has experienced this past year and is certain that with Helen’s leadership and vision, her team will continue to reach each of their business goals through their diligent work ethic and commitment to the company’s mission.
