Udderly Fresh Planning to Expand in 2022

Udderly Fresh, an ice cream truck owned by Sherri and Dave Duncan has big plans for 2022. Although this business venture is only a part-time endeavor since both owners maintain their full-time jobs, the business model they created is growing.

This ice cream truck is like no other. At Udderly Fresh, they serve not scoops of ice cream but hand-made rolled ice cream. Since opening, the owners have received request after request to serve the tasty treat at private and public events. They are considering franchising the truck due to a large interest from fellow entrepreneurs and ice cream lovers in our region.

The treat has been a popular new option for fundraisers, businesses, and community organizations. The Duncans have attended several of the University of Pittsburgh’s SBDC training events and webinars over the past 2 years.

The food truck followed the state COVID-19 guidelines to accommodate clients while keeping the participants at a social distance. The Duncan’s requested the services of the University of Pittsburgh SBDC for financial planning to continue scaling the company to the new locations. They preferred the one-on-one, private counseling of the SBDC consultant, Michael Wholihan. Michael continues to work on providing ongoing counsel for future growth with catering sales and private, corporate, and community events. The truck rolls on and so does the ice cream.
