One hundred Institute members joined acclaimed author, speaker and entrepreneur Keith Ferrazzi on May 8 to gain insight into the power and importance of healthy relationships in business.
An energetic Ferrazzi used personal and professional experiences to highlight the importance of accountability within one’s character to create trust among peers. Additionally, intimacy, candor, and generosity are other traits that, according to Ferrazzi, create a group environment that promotes success.
While relationships are a key to success in every business, the personal level of sensitivity and consciousness should not be overlooked. Personal/professional check-ins allow for greater outreach to those whom you work closely with every day. He showed that when teams work hard and care about each other they excel in finding solutions to business problems.
His interactive presentation demonstrated that communication and collaboration are necessary to unleash value in an organization. Ferrazzi taught that building relationships within yourself and among your peers does not begin with thinking to change a behavior, but rather behaving in a manner to change your thinking. Great leaders take courage in building bridges and approaching every interaction.
