About the Keynote Speaker, Kent Johnson
As CEO of Highlights for Children, Kent Johnson is responsible for leading Highlights and its family of companies. His key focuses include evolving Highlights’ offerings and evaluating opportunities to make a greater impact on a global scale. While he initially had no aspirations to work in the family business, he officially joined the company in 2005 and continues to be inspired by the mission to help children become their best selves and motivated by the challenge of carrying that philosophy into new markets around the world.
About J.D. Ewing
J.D. dove right in to his family’s business at the age of 19, taking over the struggling wholesale office furniture arm of the overall business that included four retail office furniture locations. In the nearly 35 years since, he’s managed the entrepreneurial challenges businesses experience to currently make COE Distributing an 80 person operation with roughly $100 million in annual sales.

Ms. Soldano is President of Family Enterprise USA, an organization dedicated to promoting the growth of family businesses in the US.
