The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University of Pittsburgh offers consulting services and educational programs to fuel the establishment and growth of small businesses in Western Pennsylvania. Whether you are considering starting a new business or ready to take your established business to the next level, we will connect you with the resources and tools you need.

The First Step: Mechanics of Starting a Small Business

Starting a small business can be an exciting and challenging venture. Attend this workshop to get help with financing, learn about business structures, access helpful resources, and understand how to complete required forms. 2017 First Step Workshop Dates

Time: 7:30 am – 10:30 am

Location: University of Pittsburgh, Oakland Campus, Mervis Hall.

Cost: $25 includes both programs (First Step and Second Step) and all materials. Fee is due upon registration.

 

The Second Step: Developing a Business Plan

Most financing options require a solid business plan. Attend this workshop to learn how to draft operational and production plans, conduct market research, and create financial spreadsheets to attract funding for your business.
