Ann’s Successful Run

In the “Pitt’s Dugan Ready to Pass Entrepreneurial Baton” a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review feature, Ann’s work at the Institute was highlighted, as she prepares for the next stage of her career. The Institute was founded by Dugan in 1993 has provided assistance to hundreds of closely held companies, family businesses and business startups throughout the region.
Although she has planned her exit at Pitt and assisted in a national search for her successor, Dugan has no plans of quietly into retirement. She believes the model she helped build has a lot to offer for Pittsburgh itself, because when homegrown businesses survive, they tend to give back to the communities where they’re rooted, Dugan said.
Institute members Chuck Turner, Jr. of Turner Dairy Farms, John Bitzer, Jr. of ABARTA and Jim Wholey of Robert Wholey & Co. were quoted in the story praising Dugan’s leadership and vision.
